For the first time in Canada, Anna Vilenskaya, musicologist, lecturer, and composer, will perform a lecture on Canadian music.

What is Canadian music, its roots and its most prominent representatives? Is it possible to find and identify its characteristic features? What is its place in modern musical life?

At Anna Vilenskaya’s lecture, prepared especially for this meeting, we will learn and discover many new and unexpected things or discover new layers and meanings in already familiar melodies.

Anna began her career as a lecturer while still a student at the conservatory. Her mission was to make lectures on music accessible, simple and lively - without excessive snobbery and academicism. And she succeeded! From 2018 to 2022, Anna won the public's love, giving lectures first in bars in St. Petersburg and then in libraries and theatres throughout Russia. In 2021, Anna was included in the list of Russia's 30 most influential young people. She collaborated with Warner Music Russia, created an original series for philharmonic societies and started a YouTube channel where more than 1.7 million people have already watched her analysis of Meladze's music.

Anna now lives in the USA, lectures in theatre halls, works in a school, shares her experience as a lecturer with students worldwide through a video course and continues to meet with listeners worldwide.
