He has said more than once that he feels like a translator from the author to the audience... And he is a brilliant translator. How to combine the funny and the deep, the spiritual and the absurd in one performance? Who else reads Gogol like this? According to Filippenko, there are no \u201cmodern\u201d writers - there are only geniuses and mediocrities. And geniuses are always modern.<\/p>

Why is this a must see? Not only because the brilliant actor reads wonderful prose and poetry: Gogol, Zoshchenko, Dovlatov, Pasternak, Levitansky... And not only because he does it uniquely, as always, and everyone gets great pleasure from it! Listening to Alexander Filippenko, you suddenly realize that the choice of literary texts and the author\u2019s embodiment of them connects three centuries - XIX, XX and XXI - and this connection of times creates that single living space in which the moral quests of the authors sound modern and timely - and we cannot don\u2019t think: where are we, what\u2019s wrong with us...<\/p>
